CAQA Lakeside Health, medical centre, allied health, dental, pathology and pharmacy
Lakeside Health is an integrated primary care provider serving the Lake Macquarie community with general practice, practice nursing, allied health, dentistry, pathology collection and a health services pharmacy under one organisation. Patients see a general practitioner, have blood taken, collect a prescription and book a physiotherapy or dental appointment without leaving the group. The centre cares for about 28,000 active patients, with a strong focus on chronic disease management, older people living at home, children's health and workers in the region's mining, health and retail industries. Lakeside also provides telehealth consultations for patients who find travel difficult.
The business runs across three sites. The main centre at Warners Bay houses twelve general practitioners, the nursing team, the dental clinic with its own sterilisation room, reception and administration. The Toronto satellite clinic holds four consulting rooms, the pathology collection centre and the pharmacy. The Charlestown suite is home to physiotherapy, occupational therapy, dietetics, podiatry, speech pathology and the allied health assistants who deliver group and individual programs. The centre opens from 7:30 am to 7:00 pm on weekdays and 8:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturdays, with pathology collection from 7:00 am.
